Sorina Gajewski is a freelance director and writer based in Berlin.
Immediately after graduating from high school she realized her first short film, which won the 1st prize at the Bundesfestival Junger Film. After studying screenwriting at the film school CIEVYC in Buenos Aires (2015-2018), she has been studying directing at DFFB since 2018. She also works as a photographer and first assistant director.
Her latest short film This is the last time I'm doing this screened at the Achtung Berlin! festival, the 44th Moscow IFF, the Torino Short Film Market and is represented by AG Kurzfilm, among others.
In 2022 she received funding from the BKM for the documentary First Taste, which was nominated for the Talent Award at DOK Munich in 2023 and won the UN prize of the FAO in Rome in 2024.
In summer 2023 she shot her first feature length fiction film "Nulpen" (ENG: "Slackers") which is now in the postproduction.
Currently she is working on her second feature film script "Spirit Divine" which she developed at the HerArts Lab and the Torino Next Feature Lab in 2023.
In her material she mostly negotiates political issues about feminism and social injustice.
